The Student Context Card provides insights and context about the student. It displays a simplified overview of the student's progress and contact information to directly email the student as well as their specific advisor.
Use the steps to access a Student Context Card in Canvas.
In your Canvas Course Navigation, select the Grades link to open the grade book.
To open the Context Card, select the name of the student. The context card displays along the right side of the page.
To email your student directly, select the envelope icon and a "Send a message" box will open. This message will be sent through the Canvas Inbox.
To email the student's advisor, select the Email Advisor button and a Student Advisor Alert form will open.
The Student Advisor Alert form will populate with faculty and student information.
You will need to complete the Message for Advisor section by selecting an Advisor Alert Reason from the dropdown options and add a Message for the Advisor. This message will become part of the student's permanent record.
Select Submit when complete. You will receive a confirmation email from WW Support Center (worldwideservicecenter@erau.edu).
